Description
Beaumont Studios is close to transit, the closest routes is the #84, the closest bus stop is Eastbound W. 2nd Avenue and Columbia Street. One can also access the #9 bus on Broadway but there is a hill on this route. Venue is a 10-minute walk to Olympic Village SkyTrain on Cambie Street.
There are no designated accessible parking spaces. However, there is free permit parking on the street next to the Beaumont Studio and the City of Vancouver recognizes SPARC disability parking permits (temporary and permanent); source: https://vancouver.ca/streets-transportation/accessible-parking.aspx
One bike rack available on each side of street, off the path of travel.
Pedestrian crossings do not have marked crosswalks but all have curb ramps that are stable and firm. Only 1 out 4 closest curb ramps is set up to direct pedestrians to the curb ramp on the opposite side of the street.
Exterior sidewalk is in good condition, no roots, minimal cracks, tripping hazards.
Landscaping does not create barriers, hazards, or protruding objects.
The front door is not automatic but very light and far exceeds the accessible width.
This venue lacks tactile and/or auditory features.
Volunteers will be present to open the door.
The clear width of accessible routes is be at least 920 mm with the exception of doorways which are at least 810 mm (except for the two washrooms with stalls, which do not meet this door width standard).
Accessible route the same route used by all (universal).
Accessible routes produce minimal glare and are stable and firm. The front entrance, however, has a very strong visual patterning.
There is a mix of options for seating.
Seating is located adjacent to an accessible route and has a level and firm surface.
The majority of the seating provided for the event has a height that meets the accessible standard, including chairs with a back and no arms and couches.
Some of the seating is a bit wobbly.
Overall space is easy to understand.
There is an echo in the front entrance.

Venue is an art studio so there may be smells from artists working with clay, paints, and other art materials.

Grab bars are slip-resistant, are mounted to the side and rear wall, and do not rotate within their fittings.

Viewing spaces for people with wheeled mobility devices are situated, as part of the designated seating plan, to provide a choice of viewing location and a clear view of the event taking place.

There is no passenger loading zone.
Drop-Off
Drop-off located to the side in parking area. It is beside the location and has an accessible route. It is not sheltered, there is no seating near the drop-off area outside but there is accessible seating inside. There is no height requirement for height clearance. There is no side access aisle.
There is seating, a bench, in front of the Beaumont Boutique (316 W 5th Ave).

Handrails are provided for stairs on both sides and are free of any sharp or abrasive elements.

There is another couch that exceeds CSA standards heights, at 500 mm, that would be suitable for larger bodies.
Some of the seating is a bit wobbly.
A seating space for persons using a wheeled mobility device, such as that provided at counters has a clear floor area not less than 800 x 1350 mm and adequate manoeuvring space to approach it.
A seat area shall have an adjacent level and firm area at least 850 × 1350 mm that is not part of the route of travel
